For us, slow and low dishes are not about time-saving or getting ahead, but about using skill and patience to coax maximum flavour out of our top-quality seasonal meat and vegetables. Every Wednesday, we’ll fill our boards with slow comfort-food specials. Free-range meat using the most trustworthy British ingredients around and (no coincidence) the best tasting.
As in the old proverb of the hare and the tortoise, slow and steady definitely wins the race. (Though hare makes a better stew!)
The Fishes Fish Fridays
Every Friday Night, you’ll find our Posh Fish & Chips on our specials board, as well as a great choice of fish specials. Each week, we’ll be working with our fishermen to showcase the week’s best catch. Book in soon, and enjoy a Friday night with great wine, cooked by our skilled team.
We always serve the good stuff. This game season join us for a Gastro Pub classic – British Wild Game, served with Game Chips, Braised Red Cabbage, Bread Sauce & Watercress. Roast Whole Red Legged Partridge or Roast Whole Grouse available every Thursday, Friday and Saturday all through October.
