      The Fishes Pop Up Pub

      Our kitchen will be closed for a little makeover from Monday 7th October and reopening on Saturday 19th October. But don’t worry, the bar will still be open for drinks from 12pm during this time. 

      We’ll also be opening our pop up pub from Thursday 10th October – Sunday 13th October. Whether you eat in or take away, join us from 12pm for Fizz and Posh Fish & Chips, Waygu Burgers and Beer alongside specials from Head Chef, James Grassby. The best pop up kitchen you’ll find in North Hinksey, we’d love to see you there.

        Weekend Wellingtons

        How better to embrace Autumn than with a beautiful prime British Beef Fillet Wellington, Creamy Mash, Purple Sprouting Broccoli & Truffle Jus? Fillet from Award-winning butcher Aubrey Allen, this classic is paired perfectly with our wine of the month. Just the thing after a long walk, kicking the leaves about.

        For those avoiding meat, try our Celeriac & Mushroom Wellington, with Olive Oil Mash, Sprouting Broccoli & Truffle Sauce – not only does it taste great, it’s vegan too.

          HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN CARVING COMPETITION

          To celebrate All Hallows Eve, we will be holding our annual Pumpkin carving competition. Pick up your pumpkin from 23rd October and bring in your creation before 31st October when we’ll be announcing the winner at 7pm.

          We’re very mindful of our carbon footprint and our waste so you’ll also find a note with your Pumpkin with some ideas as to what to do with your Pumpkin flesh.

            Bonfire Night

            Our annual bonfire party will start with lighting the bonfire at 7pm. We’ll have Hot Dogs & Burgers as well as Naughty Hot Chocs, our Peroni Van, Mulled Cider, Toasted Marshmallows and Toffee Apples. This year will also see the return of our Guy competition – bring down your Guy Fawkes – our favourite wins a prize! Join us from 6.30pm.

              Christmas Eve Eve Carols

              Join us as we get into the Christmas spirit with traditional carol singing and of course Mulled Wine and Mince Pies.

              From 7pm.

                Christmas Day

                We’re closed for the day to stuff ourselves with turkey and then gently nod off in front of the fire.

                  Boxing Day

                  We’ll be ready to fix any sore heads with our full menu and roast dinner specials, available from 12 noon until 8pm. Best to book to avoid disappointment.

                    New Year’s Eve

                    31st December is about seeing in the New Year with a group of friends or family, with good food and a couple of drinks. It’s a social affair, just add your choice of party goers. Whether you’re a four or a fourteen, book your table early. Or if you’re joining us in the bar, just pop down from 9pm.

                      New Year’s Day

                      Start 2019 at The Fishes and enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner and Bloody Marys, from 12pm and into the evening.
